Last night's Council of Fashion Designers of America's (CFDA) annual awards--hosted by comedienne, Tracey Ullman--really belonged to young designers, who dominated the traditional awards (in addition to the awards dedicated to newcomers). I can even forgive Rodarte taking away the Womenswear award from my husband, Marc Jacobs, as I absolutely adorrrrrrre their line. This is what went down at the 2009 Costume Institute Gala at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art the other night...

Some love it, some hate it...

I've sort of lost track with Riri's image... At first she did the whole Jamaican thing. Then she tried to be diva like B... And then of course she fell into the whole "I'm a rock'n'rolla" (we all are hunny). Seems like Riri's having an identity crisis (that just won't go away).

Anyway, enough Dr. Phil... I just don't know what's off about this outfit. Usually i'd scream "Fierce!" But it seems very Rocky Horror Picturesque.... Screams more costumey than high-fashioney...

But that's probably me hating because I think I'd look SOOo much better in that Dolce & Gabbana outfit. Word to yo'Momma! i joke. ok, not really :P

The so-called "Oscars of fashion," the Met Costume Institute Ball, was held in rainy NYC last night with Marc Jacobs and Kate Moss as the hosts. The theme: "Models as muse." As always, the fashionistas in attendance brought the fierceness, but with some pretty big misses on the red carpet too! In addition to the fashion, there was some controversy as both top models Naomi Campbell and Stephanie Seymour chose to boycott over the exclusion of Azzedine Alaïa from both the exhibit and the invitation list. Are you serious? The man's a big player on the fashion scene!!! If MObama endorses him, he's obviously mayjaaaaah!
