I know Valentines Day is over. But love is all around us! Anyways, one might think that the point to which im driving has nothing to do with the preceding statement. I promise you it does. 

Sometime in the following week I shall be in attendance of the Opera, Turandot (Giacomo Puccini's last Opera). I know! I'm super excited for me too!

So last summer I was vacationing in Roma (Italy) when on one particular day I came across the set of "Angels and Demons" directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks and Ewan McGregor. It will be released in May, 2009.

Collection:  Rodarte Fall 2009 fashion show during Mercedez Benz Fashion Week on February 17, 2009 in NYC.

Significance: I adore Rodarte! I love everything from palette-choice to detail and texture! I call it "a breath of imagination." You would never guess that two sisters from Pasedena, California would venture into the fashion world (completely unknown) and establish such a name for themselves! Kate and Laura Mulleavy (the founders of Rodarte) have gone major-league with their brand in just four years (since 2005)! Good job, ladies!

It can get confusing especially when people around you do it incorrectly (and try to correct you). Collection: Arise Africa Fashion Collective RTW Fall 09'

New York Fashion Week is a place designers go to showcase their creativity. I give many thanks to Arise Magazine in collaboration with Thisday who gave our African designers a chance to showcase their talent.

Here comes the ONLY negative aspect I saw (everyone is entitled to their opinions): I thought some of the designers didn't take enough risks with their pieces (played it a bit too safe). But that's just me. All in all, nice work! Props to them! 

I really appreciated the embellished shift dresses and purple& black numbers from the Tiffany Amber collection.
