AND thE (FAsHioN) oScAR GoES tO...

Left: The Mulleavy sisters, who founded their line in 2005.
Right:
McCollough and Hernandez, who started their label in 2002.

Last night's Council of Fashion Designers of America's (CFDA) annual awards--hosted by comedienne, Tracey Ullman--really belonged to young designers, who dominated the traditional awards (in addition to the awards dedicated to newcomers). I can even forgive Rodarte taking away the Womenswear award from my husband, Marc Jacobs, as I absolutely adorrrrrrre their line. Their F09 collection is stunning...Hmmm, maybe I should start a fashion line in my (non-existent) basement with my sister! Beats finding a "real" job....

>>Womenswear: Kate and Laura Mulleavy for RODARTE.

>>Menswear:
Tie: Italo Zucchelli of CALVIN KLEIN and Scott Sternberg of BAND OF OUTSIDERS
>>Accessories: Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for PROENZA SCHOULER

>>International Award: Marc Jacobs for LOUIS VUITTON

>>Popular Vote: Ralph Lauren
>>Lifetime Award: Anna Sui
