Music: "Sweet Fanta Diallo" by Alpha Blondy

Sometimes you just have to take it back. So today, we're taking it back to 1996 (about 13 years ago)...

Significance: Alpha Blondy (Seydou Kone) is an Ivorian reggae singer whose lyrics are said to convey "strong political attitudes and a fine sense of humor." I mean, of course music is subjective (meaning, how you derive the message of the song is up to you), but Alpha Blondy has always been a fighter of injustice--and his music conveys this. In 2005, Alpha Blondy was named United Nations Ambassador of Peace for Côte D'Ivoire. He made great efforts to bring about a peace in his country's political and physical division (a result of an attempted Coup in 2001). In March 2007, a peace agreement was signed and implemented, due to the hard work of many people including Alpha Blondy.(Source) 

So now you feel you know him (even just a little), you should SOO listen to some of his other music!

Don't know about you, but when I was a little girl I LOVED my Barbies (literally spent hours playing with them).
